Greenhouse in ZIN Brussels A Deforche Construction Group Innovation

Forzon, a company under the Deforche Construction Group, has integrated a greenhouse into the ZIN building in Belgium. This project creates a dynamic space that transforms from a concealed interior garden in winter to an open public area in summer.

Advanced Climate Control Technology

The architectural design of the greenhouse highlights its advanced climate control technology. This system includes automated mechanisms for ventilation, sun shading, and irrigation. The greenhouse’s glass roof, featuring asymmetric saddle shapes, is equipped with photovoltaic cells on its sloping sides to enhance energy efficiency.

Efficient Irrigation System

A sophisticated irrigation system is installed throughout the greenhouse. Controlled by adjustable timers, this system allows precise regulation and optimization of the watering schedule. This ensures an ideal climate, making the space inviting for both people and plants.

Structural Design

Forzon was responsible for designing the greenhouse’s steel structure, aluminum facades, and glass roofs. The glass roofs, arranged in a series of asymmetrical gable shapes, contribute to the greenhouse’s unique architectural style.

Sustainable Development Practices

Constructed using sustainable product development methods, the greenhouse holds Cradle to Cradle (C2C) certification. This certification emphasizes the use of materials that can be reused by future generations, promoting environmental sustainability and responsible resource use throughout the greenhouse’s lifecycle.
